    UPCOMING EVENTS

FAB Live* Webinar: ADHD & Dyslexia – What Can Diet Do?

    Thursday 27th February, 6.00 – 7.30pm GMT

We’re delighted to welcome back a leading expert in this area - Dr Emma Derbyshire – joined by Dr Alex Richardson, and Hazel de Maeijer of FAB Research - for more expert explanation, live discussion and Q&A on the role of nutrition and diet in two of the most common developmental conditions: ADHD and Dyslexia.

    BOOK NOW FOR EARLYBIRD RATES

*This event will be recorded - so whether or not you can attend live, your booking will allow you to access the full video and handouts afterwards.

"ADHD & Dyslexia – What Can Diet Do?" is part 2 of a new FAB series of events on the theme: ‘ADHD and What Else?’ - because co-occurring conditions are the rule, not the exception – as highlighted in the first event of this series -

Nutrition for ADHD and Related Conditions

We’re giving FREE access to our introductory event (Nutrition for ADHD and Related Conditions) with all bookings for ADHD & Dyslexia – What Can Diet Do? – as the same expert speakers will be exploring and discussing more of the latest evidence, and answering your questions, on ‘Dyslexia’ and ‘ADHD’ in particular.

If these conditions are of interest to you – personally or professionally - don’t miss this opportunity to find out more about

    • the overlaps - and the differences - between these common conditions
    • why (and how) food, diet and nutrition are relevant to both
    • how specific aspects of nutrition may influence specific features, traits or symptoms that affect many children and adults with these conditions
    • and practical applications backed by scientific evidence

Book now for "ADHD & Dyslexia – What Can Diet Do?"

FAB Special Webinar – Food & Mental Health: New Initiatives for the NHS
If you missed the live event last week... Video recording (and handouts) will be available this Friday Feb 21st.

Evidence already shows that offering dietary and nutritional support as part of a ‘holistic’ approach to the clinical care of patients with severe mental Illness (SMI) is feasible, usually very welcome, and can improve engagement with mental health services, and outcomes – for mental as well as physical health and well-being.

So why is this approach not more widely used in the NHS?

We were delighted to host this very special webinar last week – with presentations, discussion and Q&A with two NHS experts in this area:

    Dr Kevin Williamson

Consultant Nutritionist – who explained the background, and announced the exciting new (but long-planned!) collaboration between FAB and his NHS Trust, aimed at developing further their pioneering work in this area - and linking with other leading international experts in Nutritional Psychiatry

    Jo Smith

Registered Dietitian and Clinical Academic - who outlined just a fraction of her expert work on the links between SMI and ‘Food insecurity’, and ‘Emotional Eating’ – both all too common, yet often overlooked, despite their huge potential impact on health outcomes, physical and mental

The event included a top-line summary from Dr Alex Richardson of just some of the latest scientific evidence in this area – and Hazel de Maeijer chaired our live Q&A discussion.

This webinar is FREE for anyone employed by the NHS – and for all students or researchers based in the UK – and available for a small fee to anyone with an interest in this important area.
